Embroidery Museum

Take a journey through the history of the mining town Eibenstock. You'll learn some interesting things about the colonization, the peak of the tin and iron ore mining, about the skilled crafts done in past times, as well as the Erzgebirge folk art. Demonstrations of historic embroidery machines give visitors an insight of how these delicate works of art were created.

Indoor Riding Arena Eibenstock

This arena provides everything that would thrill a rider's heart whether he is a horse lover or an active jockey. It boasts modern and animal-friendly accommodation in the guest stalls, a large warm-up area and an obstacle course with cavalettis (ground poles) and more. PIT PAT- and Indoor Mini Golf

A recreational sport for all ages - singles, families, groups and clubs. The mini-golf course with 18 holes is in a 1,000 sq m large gym, which has facilities for international tournaments. Many game options and ball runs are mathematically calculated. The use of the "Kegelbahn" (German bowling alley, with smaller balls) is also available. You can also play darts, billiards, Kicker table soccer and pinball. Take a break at the Sportsbar or in the beer garden.

Kunsthof (Art House) Eibenstock

This is the center for self-defined health, art and the joy of living. Here you can take dance lessons from the Dance City Dancing School, watch stage performances of the Bergbühne Eibenstock, listen to lectures and seminars. Yoga classes are held in the large Yoga room. Cooking and baking courses are offered in the workshop kitchen, and from July 2011 various creative art courses are offered.

Bandonión Exhibition Carlsfeld

Carl Friedrich Zimmermann started manufacturing harmonicas in Carlsfeld in 1847. In 1864 he sold the business to his former master craftsmen and immigrated to America. Carlsfeld is know for the home of the bandoneón, the No. 1 instrument for accompanying Tango dancing, which is especially popular in Argentina and Uruguay. Every year at the beginning of October, an international bandoneón concert is held in Carlsfeld.

Museum in the Saafnlob House Wildenthal

This local history museum of the Wildenthal village in the Saafnlob House was compiled by the Home Town Society. Here you can learn about the famous poet, Goethe and Charlotte von Stein, who had travelled by coach through Wildenthal, or about Stephan Dietrich who was called "Saafnlob", a regional Erzgebirg poet, as well as learning other interesting facts up until the recent GDR history.

Mining trail

Many information plaques along the narrow path explain early mining history of the "Kurfürstlich" free mining town of Eibenstock, where mainly tin and silver ore were mined. On the way you can find reconstructed small mines using centuries old remnants of the mining industry, for example tunnels called adit holes and light holes. Discover the "Pochschalen" which are cast-iron plates with a small round pit in the center on which the ore was pounded. Or the Griebenherde, which is a device for obtaining pitch or pine tar.

Water trail

The water trail is about 4.5 km long. You cross the wall of the dam at Schönheiderhammer halfway along the trail. From there you can have a fascinating view of both expanses of water between the first and second dam wall. Visitors can learn a lot about water, forest and nature at 14 stations with information boards. On the way there are benches where one can rest, and things to try out for fun, (like the water wheel that turns with a crank).

Electric Bicycle Rental

Electric bikes take you easily to any destination. You can pedal them like normal bicycles, and depending on your choice of support at 3 different levels, a powerful electric motor helps to propel you along. That makes riding through the Erzgebirge a lot of fun. With the electric bike you receive modern wheels, powerful batteries, careful instructions on cycling technique, suggested routes with maps.
